In the Port of Rotterdam, Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT) handles the majority of container transshipment. ECT operates the ECT Delta terminal and the ECT Euromax terminal, both located on the Maasvlakte.
The ECT Delta terminal and the ECT Euromax terminal offer shipping lines 24/7 service, with a primary focus on service quality. In close cooperation with the customer, every ship is unloaded and loaded quickly and efficiently. To achieve this, ECT combines extensive automation with the knowledge and experience of more than 50 years of craftsmanship.
At ECT’s terminals, all shipping lines are assured of maximum attention. Located directly on the North Sea, ECT has 8 deep-sea berths available for even the very largest vessels of 20,000+ TEU. These can berth here under all conditions, without tidal restrictions or the hindrance of locks. Unloading and loading is usually carried out with six to eight cranes simultaneously.

European Gateway Services
European Gateway Services (EGS) is part of Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam. As a major multimodal hub, ECT offers its customers all the advantages of synchromodal transport via EGS.
As a synchromodal service provider, EGS offers shipping lines, logistics service providers, and shippers an integrated network for transport to and from the European hinterland. High-frequency rail and inland waterway services connect an extensive network of inland terminals with the deep-sea terminals in Rotterdam and other ports. In addition, EGS offers many supplementary services, such as transport without customs documents, storage, empty depots, and port-to-door delivery.
Customers can always choose from multiple modalities (rail, inland shipping, truck) – the best option for that specific moment. When necessary, for example due to speed requirements or blockages, one can also easily switch modalities. This ensures the best transport combination is possible for every situation.
