To achieve this, new technological developments are increasingly being used, and links are being established between the road, the road user, and the vehicle. The market demands parties capable of responding proactively to these developments and who can oversee and approach the entire mobility chain.

Heijmans focuses its infrastructure activities on the design, construction, maintenance, management, and reconstruction of roads and motorways, airports, business parks, and the design of public spaces in residential and shopping areas. We are also active in hydraulic engineering and implement installations and systems to enhance road safety and traffic flow.

By developing, applying, and combining innovative products and services, we contribute to improving and creating a safe, accessible, and livable public space and optimal traffic flow. We are involved in a wide range of projects that align with this mission. Examples include energy-generating noise barriers (SONOB), BikeScout (a warning system for approaching cyclists), MX3D (3D printing of a steel bridge), and traffic and tunnel technical installations for projects such as the Kethel Tunnel and the tunnel on the A9 Gaasperdammerweg.
