To prevent the corridors and the hub from becoming congested, Gelderland has opted for a sustainable and innovative approach to mobility. The traffic and transport system supports a strong economy and prosperity, while stimulating social integration.

Seizing opportunities
Regarding mobility, Gelderland focuses on the core provincial tasks of regional accessibility and regional public transport. Mobility is essential for our further ambitions for urban networks, utilizing our (inter)national corridors for passenger and freight transport, and strengthening the accessibility of more rural areas and smaller towns in the province.

Getting to work innovatively
The Province of Gelderland is continuously innovating its policy and implementation. Examples include innovations in public transport and stop facilities, logistics and freight transport, the WEpod (autonomous vehicle), better utilization, dynamic traffic management, Intelligent Transport Systems, cycling measures, and increasing the use of ICT in the daily management and maintenance of our network of 1,200 km of provincial roads.
