UrbanVind: great developments thanks to the Affiliation Event

UrbanVind has undergone a remarkable transformation since starting its participation in the Affiliation program. The company, which focuses on measuring passenger flows, has significantly upgraded its product and is now ready for further growth. We speak with Ivo de Geus about this.

A new product, a greater impact

UrbanVind has made an important strategic choice since January: the switch from an app-based solution to a standalone device. Where drivers previously had to use an Android app to map passenger flows via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi scans, there is now a device that can be installed in just three minutes per bus.

This approach is paying off. The new system is now operational in three cities: Lisbon, Jurmala, and Antalya. Furthermore, UrbanVind has several cities, both within and outside Europe, on the waiting list for implementation.

The Connekt network as a catalyst

The Affiliation Event has given UrbanVind access to the Connekt network, which has been crucial for their development. Ivo emphasizes the importance of this connection: "The Connekt membership has primarily given us access to networks and visibility, something every startup struggles with, and which helped us enormously in the beginning."

The network offered not only visibility but also the opportunity to exchange ideas with members. These conversations were decisive in the development of the current product. Additionally, sponsorship by Buko and Technolution has opened new doors. Future projects in public spaces are being considered with Buko, while the collaboration with Technolution provided valuable expertise both domestically and abroad.

Ambitious plans for the future

The next six months will be focused on growth and professionalization. UrbanVind aims to process and further expand the waiting list of cities, while the product itself is further optimized. Another important ambition is completing the current investment round.
