The recent study trip by Connekt and the Smart Mobility Embassy to Gothenburg once again demonstrated the value of learning, discovering, experiencing, and meeting together. For three days, mobility, logistics, and digitalization took center stage – with unique visits to International House Gothenburg, Lindholmen Science Park, Business Region Göteborg, World of Volvo, Västtrafik, and Ericsson, among others.
We saw how government, businesses, and knowledge institutions in Sweden collaborate on future-proof cities, urban logistics, autonomous transport, digitalization, and next-generation connectivity (6G). In addition to inspiring presentations and workshops, there was plenty of room for informal meetings, joint dinners, and exploring the city. This mix resulted in both new insights and close contacts.
What participants learned, discovered, experienced, and encountered
- Insights into urban mobility, logistics, and digitalization
- Examples of successful projects and innovations outside the Netherlands
- Inspiration for future projects and the promotion of Dutch innovations
- Knowledge sharing with foreign partners and Connekt members

Learning, discovering, and experiencing together
The strength of the trip lay in experiencing things together: on the bus, during a walk, or during an informal conversation at the table. Those are the moments that foster inspiration, innovation, and collaboration.
In short: you should have been there! And fortunately – there will be a next time. Make sure you are there, because these kinds of experiences cannot be read about. You have to live them.
