In Meet our Members, Connekt puts one of its members in the spotlight every two weeks. We highlight their involvement in the network and their contribution to current themes in mobility and logistics. This time, our Premium Member Panteia is in the spotlight!
Panteia stands for independent and reliable data-driven research and advice. With over 80 experts and a broad (inter)national network of partners, Panteia supports clients with complex issues in the fields of transport and mobility, economics, and the social domain – from regional to international levels.
“We can bring energy here and gain energy to further exploit the power of logistics and mobility, thereby improving the quality of life.”
Connecting research, policy, and practice
Within the Connekt network, the focus is on collaboration between public and private parties. Panteia contributes to this by approaching current mobility issues with facts and data and translating them into applicable solutions.
Panteia's strength lies in its ability to approach complex issues based on facts and data with research power and policy depth. In addition, they develop innovation-driven solutions, such as smart intermodal concepts and advanced data analyses, which accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility. They also fulfill a connecting role between practice and policy, both regionally and European, which is essential for an integrated approach to mobility challenges. Finally, they know how to bring the right people and parties together, so that collaboration leads to concrete and tangible results.
Focus within Connekt
Within the network, Panteia focuses on both logistics and mobility, but specifically on the interaction between the two. The functioning of one often has direct consequences for the other.
A concrete example is the idea of a ‘stress test for networks’: what happens if a connection fails, whether planned or unexpected? By mapping this out well in advance, the consequences can be limited. Consider the closure of the A10: a scenario where the connection between mobility and logistics becomes immediately visible.
Brussels as a connecting link
Panteia is strongly represented in Brussels and utilizes that position to help Connekt members further. From this role, Panteia can provide partners, funds, and knowledge to realize solutions in the Netherlands and Europe more quickly. “Brussels can trigger the Netherlands, and the Netherlands can trigger Brussels.”
A look at the future
With their combination of substantive, research, and data expertise, Panteia provides unique insights that contribute directly to solving the societal issues of today and tomorrow. “Seek solutions in networks: of hubs, of people, of modalities, of data. And also look from the outside in.”
