By 2050 all logistics and transport activities in the Netherlands will need to increase their energy efficiency by a factor of 6, if we want to meet the targets set in the Paris climate agreement. The future of the logistics sector encompasses many more aspects than simply achieving efficiency targets, however. Our economy is changing rapidly, which means logistics is changing too. Cities are becoming busier, deliveries are getting smaller and new technologies such as robots and self-driving vehicles will have a far-reaching impact. How will all these developments fit together and what role will companies be able to play here, both individually and in partnership? These are questions that will be covered during the Top Sector Logistics Conference on March 16, 2017, the theme of which is Futureproof Logistics.
