Join a special workshop on Cycling and ITS at the ITS World Congress 2018 1

You can spot a lot of ITS innovation during the ITS World Congress 2018 in Copenhagen. Although a lot is focusing on motorized traffic, there is also attention for the cyclist this year! That’s why representatives from Donkey Republic, city of Aarhus, See.Sense, Transport for Greater Manchester, Goudappel Coffeng and Connekt are inviting you to a special workshop on cycling and ITS. Including a real bicycle experience!

Cycling and ITS?
The arguments pro-cycling are overwhelming: it is sustainable, healthy, zero emissions, silent, clean and cheap to purchase. More cycling means healthier, happier and more connected communities. In this workshop experts will share their views on how cycling fits a smart city perspective, their contribution to social and sustainable targets and how cities can regulate bike sharing to ensure healthy implementation and operations. The workshop provides an opportunity for participants to experience the ITS solutions that are being used for cycling. The experience is supported by keynotes of various experts on connecting the bike to the infrastructure, adaptive intelligent traffic lights to provide green lights for cyclists, crowdsourced sensor data to help shape cycling infrastructure and integration of bike share systems.

What can I expect from the experience?
The experience is an open area in which visitors are able to come and experience the presented bicycle and ITS solutions. We will demonstrate services for cyclists and show smart bikes. It also allows the visitor to go in-depth into specific presentations by visiting the solutions.

How can I participate to the workshop?
The workshop takes place in the ITS Forum on Wednesday 19 September between 13:30hrs and 17:00hrs (local time). The ITS Forum is situated on the exhibition floor of the ITS World Congress in Copenhagen and is open to every visitor.

I have an experience on ITS and bicycles to show!
