Do you have a passion for sustainability, digitalization, and logistics? Would you like to contribute to international projects that shape the world of tomorrow? At Stichting Connekt, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your curiosity and practical mindset to innovative and impactful initiatives. As a Project Manager, you will be involved in challenging projects that focus on networking, critical analysis, and finding practical solutions.
The Role of Project Manager
As a Project Manager, you are responsible for planning, organizing, supporting, and coordinating various projects. You will work on multiple projects simultaneously, varying in size and complexity, supporting program managers in the process. It is essential to stay informed about the status of these projects so that you can report back to the relevant parties. Additionally, you ensure that agreements with stakeholders are honored and report to various steering committees.
In addition to organizing projects and programs effectively, this role requires a combination of knowledge and skills. You have some understanding of how innovations are accepted, applied, and scaled. It’s also important to grasp how different technologies, legislation, finances, and practical applications interconnect. Another crucial part of the role is managing government resources efficiently, dealing with legal requirements, subsidies, and innovative procurement processes.
What will you do?
Connekt is increasingly operating on an international scale, and your role as Project Manager is vital in this regard. You will contribute to Connekt’s growing international ambitions, playing a key role in establishing our organization’s presence within Europe. In this dynamic and versatile role, you will work on three main themes.
- One of your key tasks will be advocating for our projects in Brussels. You will represent Connekt in European circles, building a strong network of influential officials, Members of the European Parliament, and other stakeholders. You will ensure that the projects we are working on are on the radar of decision-makers in Brussels, continuously seeking opportunities to increase our impact. This requires not only strong networking skills but also strategic insight into the dynamics of European policymaking.
- You will also work closely with the Program Director International Affairs on an international mobility program where European-level agreements on data (Mobiedic) are made. Your role is crucial in this regard. You will support various aspects of the project, such as organizing meetings, maintaining relationships, and ensuring daily progress. While you will have operational tasks, you will also have room to think critically. Asking the right questions—such as why certain choices are made—and suggesting improvements are important aspects of your job. Your fresh and analytical perspective will contribute to the success and progress of Mobiedic. This project will take up about half of your time and offers significant room for personal growth and initiative.
- Another major project you will work on is the Lean & Green program, one of Connekt’s most innovative projects focused on sustainability and digitalization. Here too, you will collaborate closely with the Program Director International Affairs. The Lean & Green project is on the verge of a major renewal, with a focus on implementing CRSD (Corporate Social Responsibility and Digitalization). In this role, you are expected to contribute strategically to the link between digitalization and sustainability while also working practically to implement this transformation. This requires strong analytical skills and the ability to find and execute concrete, practical solutions. For more information about this program, you can read it here.
The variety of tasks and the balance between strategic thinking and practical execution make this position particularly challenging and diverse. You will regularly travel, both within the Netherlands and to other European countries, to represent our projects and stay updated on the latest developments. Whether traveling independently or with Nico, your flexibility and willingness to travel are essential to succeed in this role.
In short, as a Project Manager at Stichting Connekt, you will work on the future of sustainable mobility and logistics, focusing on building networks, critically analyzing projects, and finding practical solutions that make a real difference. You will have a lot of responsibility and the freedom to shape your role, with plenty of opportunities for personal development and to contribute to our mission.
What do you bring?
- You are naturally curious and have an independent work ethic. You enjoy discovering how things work and are not afraid to ask critical questions. Additionally, you have a strong affinity for logistics, sustainability, and digitalization—these topics fascinate you, and you are eager to make a difference in these areas. Networking is one of your strengths: you easily establish contacts and maintain relationships naturally. Connecting people and ideas gives you energy, and you always remain diplomatic and professional.
- You have a higher education (HBO or WO) work and thinking level, but we place less emphasis on a specific field of study—it’s mainly your way of thinking and approach that count for us. You prefer to work practically and to the point, avoiding unnecessary detours. You make things happen and enjoy getting things done. In short, you are a hands-on professional who enjoys making an impact in a fast-changing and increasingly international work environment.
